I HAVE A FEW THINGS TO DO THAT WILL DELAY MY POSTING TODAY.  RETURN IN A FEW HOURS FOR THE FULL ENTRY.


The next two weeks will feature a variety of sport events in the Northern Hemisphere.  Not sure if any one is better than the others, but here is a list that will be covered, and more:

  • FIFA World Cup.
    • Today.
      • Norway vs England at 5PM EDT.
      • Argentina vs Switzerland at 9PM EDT.
    • Championship on Sunday, July 19 at 3PM EDT
      • Something new will be a half-time show.
      • Featured will be BTS, Madonna, Justin Bieber, Shakira, Coldplay, Burna Boy, PS22 Chorus and conductor Gustavo Dumamel.
      • Should start soon after 3:50PM EDT.
  • The Tour de France began on July 4 from Barcelona, Spain, and will conclude on Sunday, July 26 on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, France.
  • Wimbledon.
    • Women's single finals today at 11AM EDT.
    • Men's single finals tomorrow, Sunday, 11AM EDT.
  • Former UFC champions Conor McGregor and Max Holloway will today from Las Vegas, 9PM EDT.  The odds are such that Holloway should prevail, 69%, or -278.
  • The 154th Open Championship will be held from July 16-19 at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club.
  • Major League Baseball All-Star Week begins today.  
    • The Home Run Derby will ONLY be held on Netflix at 8PM EDT on Monday, July 13.
    • The All-Star Game will air on FOX at 8PM EDT on July 14.
In the Southern Hemisphere:
  • Rugby Union Nations Championship, began on July 4, but will not end until 29November2026.
  • There are various races and such, but nothing of global consequence.

Also, one of us, but not me, will today be leaving on a special tour, as explained by Google AI:

But first, Sheraton Yokohama Bay highlights of our Sheraton Club eats/drinks and breakfasts. Breakfast stations. Then taxi off to the Diamond Princess.  Fall colors. ON THE MATTER OF PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

HOW TO WATCH NETFLIX SHOWS

But first, maybe  President Donald Trump's 20-point Gaza Peace Plan is showing some progress .   No one expects the Hamas to accept all of them, but they did agree to release all captives and the act of handing over administration to Palestinian technocrats. So far, in the Gaza Strip, 66,288 have been killed and 169,165 wounded.   On 7October2023, almost two years ago, 1139 were killed in the initial Hamas-led attack. About my topic of the day, I've long been lamenting the overflow of watchable films and series available on Netflix and Prime.  Why expand into the plethora of other streaming options when I can't keep up with what I have, which costs me around $30/month.  And, of course, why venture out to a movie theater to end up watching a film that will cost me around that amount of money, when you add the popcorn, drink, gasoline cost, time it takes to get there and back, and the risk of a car accident or worse.  Oh, also getting infected with ...
