IT WAS SHO TIME LAST NIGHT

Shohei Ohtani just played the greatest game in baseball history.  To quote MSNBC: This is Beethoven at a piano. This is Shakespeare with a quill. This is Michael Jordan in the Finals. This is Tiger Woods in Sunday red.   This is too good to be true with no reason to doubt it. This is the beginning of every baseball conversation and the end of the debate: Shohei Ohtani is the best baseball player who has ever played the game, the most talented hitter and pitcher of an era in which data and nutrition have made an everyman’s sport a game for superhumans. And Friday night, when he helped his Los Angeles Dodgers win the pennant with a 5-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series, was his Mona Lisa. How was this for a beginning?  In the top of the first inning, he struck out the side, then led off the bottom with a home run. When he hit his second homer, where the ball traveled 469 feet in the fourth inning, he had more hits ...

THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME ATHLETE?

Republicans seem troubled in two states.  First, Ohio, and specifically Springfield, a city of nearly 60,000, with a metropolitan area population of 136,000 residents.    It is home of Wittenberg University. Is now where  12,000 to 15,000 legal Haitians  have legally come.  This began three years ago.  The Federal government did not send them to Springfield.  They chose this city for its low cost of living and available work.  There are more than 210,000 Haitian immigrants now in the U.S, all legally entered. Leaders of the area are grateful for their presence. Ohio Republican Governor Mike DeWine was born in Springfield, and grew up in nearby Yellow Springs.  Has served as governor since 2019, and prior to that, was in both the House and Senate of the U.S. Congress. Ohio Republican Senator JD Vance was born in Middletown, Ohio, which is 43 miles from Springfield. Governor DeWine describes his Haitian immigrants as a positive influence....

MICHAEL JORDAN: The Greatest Pumpkin

What is happening in the House of Representatives only draws comments of clown show and idiots.  Looks like no Speaker until next week.  Bipartisan solution?  On top of all that, former speaker Kevin McCarthy publicly blamed President Joe Biden's climate policy for catalyzing the Hamas attack.  Huh???   Read this . The  Arab World  is of course supporting pro-Palestinian protests, such as the one in Baghdad, Iran to the right.  Of course  Europe  had some of this, and police in Paris used teargas and water cannons to break up the banned rally.  However, there was also a sizable, but peaceful, gathering around Times Square in New York City.   Only in America . Israel is in a pickle.  They almost surely will expand their ground incursion into the Gaza Strip, but, as  The Atlantic  reported, Israel is  Walking into a Trap . You can't root out a terrorist group that runs the country. Israel has warned ...
