Today was a good day for Donald Trump: It's looking like the Supreme Court will allow Donald Trump to run for president. He will win all the delegate votes in the Nevada caucus, He prevailed over Congress by having his followers delete any progress on border talks. So what about Trump's future?  The following is pure speculation based on what I know about the  trials and taradiddles of Donald Trump . The Supreme Court will rule that Colorado, certainly, but all other states, too, must allow Trump to run for president if he wins the nomination of the Republican Party in mid-July. However, when they make that declaration, or not long after that, they will indicate by their actions, that he is not immune to prosecution. Finally, the Supreme Court will say that if he is judged guilty in Georgia or DC of his coup attempt, Trump will abdicate his position as president if he wins re-election on 5November2024.  He will not be able to pardon himself.    Before I get into the   Condé Nast   article, a few items of import today: Congress is in session, and the House is scheduled to vote on their rules package tonight.   This bit of legislation simply provides the  rules of the House . This will not be covered like those 14 Speaker voting embarrassments, for who really knows, this could also go on into several attempts. Chances are, though, that they'll succeed on vote #1. But, over the next two years you can expect gridlock, government closures, full court presses to gain revenge over Biden, the January 6 House Special Committee and the Judiciary Department, for, guess what, Rep. Jim Jordan chairs the Judiciary Committee. In Brazil , the voting public, as in the USA, returned to the presidency an old-time liberal politician, kicking out the ultra-conservative miscreant, another Donald Trump.  Not to say that the new president is the equivalent of Joe Biden, for Luiz Inácio LULA da Silva was a former president who was convicted of graft and served 580 days in jail.  He is 77, and Biden was elected to the White House at the same age.   Lula just this May got married  for the third time, to a 55-year old sociologist.  About incumbent Jair Bolsonaro, he is the model of Trump, with integrity and conspiracy problems, also blaming the loss on crooked counting.  The results were close, with Lula getting less than 51% and Jair more than 49%.  Certainly, Bolsonaro will maintain a Trump-like effort to legally or illegally maintain power.   I don't think, for example, that he has yet conceded .  Also, he has been blamed for mishandling the pandemic.  Brazil is #2 to the USA in total COVID-19 deaths. Yesterday I focused on Ukraine President   Zelensky .  I have used this spelling, but   two years ago  ago, when he first attained that position, several other versions were mentioned:    Zelenskyi,   Zelenskiy   and   Zelenskyy .  Well, more and more I now see   Zelenskyy , and that could be because this appears to be the "official" spelling.  And who knew how to pronounce his name?  Note that   Kiev  also switched to   Kyiv   only more recently, and now I know how to pronounce it.
