Went to the pool deck for a walk, and saw the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Denver Broncos. Dinner in the Garden Cafe buffet with glasses of Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. First populated in 1444. There are around 68,000 people now living on this island. Ponta Delgada became a city in 1546 after the 1522 earthquake, which devastated the island. The Cult of the Lord Holy Christ of the Miracles is the largest and oldest religious event in Portugal. The Azores is one of two autonomous regions of Portugal, along with Madeira. DID YOU KNOW THAT PRESIDENT GERALD FORD WAS ALMOST ASSASSINATED BY TWO FEMALES, SEVENTEEN DAYS APART?

Donald Trump escaped assassination twice, the first by a smidge, and second through alert security prevalence.  Did you know that  President Gerald Ford, too, in 1975, survived two attempts, within three weeks ? Both occurred in California by women. On 5September1975, on the grounds of the California State Capitol in Sacramento, Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, a follower of Charles Manson, drew a Colt M1911 .45-caliber pistol on Ford when he reached to shake her hand in a crowd.   She had four cartridges in the piston, but none in the firing chamber, so the gun did not fire.  Was immediately restrained by a Secret Service agent. Sentenced to life in prison and released on 14August2009 after serving 34 years. Published a book about her life in 2018,  Reflexion . Now lives in Marcy, New York with her boyfriend in a house decorated with skulls.   Says she is still in love with Charles Manson, who passed away in 2017. On 22September1975, 17 days later, 45-y...

DONALD TRUMP

Today was a good day for Donald Trump: It's looking like the Supreme Court will allow Donald Trump to run for president. He will win all the delegate votes in the Nevada caucus, He prevailed over Congress by having his followers delete any progress on border talks. So what about Trump's future?  The following is pure speculation based on what I know about the  trials and taradiddles of Donald Trump . The Supreme Court will rule that Colorado, certainly, but all other states, too, must allow Trump to run for president if he wins the nomination of the Republican Party in mid-July. However, when they make that declaration, or not long after that, they will indicate by their actions, that he is not immune to prosecution. Finally, the Supreme Court will say that if he is judged guilty in Georgia or DC of his coup attempt, Trump will abdicate his position as president if he wins re-election on 5November2024.  He will not be able to pardon himself. The problem with the above is ...

CONDÉ NAST: The Around-the-World Cruise Guide

Before I get into the   Condé Nast   article, a few items of import today: Congress is in session, and the House is scheduled to vote on their rules package tonight.   This bit of legislation simply provides the  rules of the House . This will not be covered like those 14 Speaker voting embarrassments, for who really knows, this could also go on into several attempts. Chances are, though, that they'll succeed on vote #1. But, over the next two years you can expect gridlock, government closures, full court presses to gain revenge over Biden, the January 6 House Special Committee and the Judiciary Department, for, guess what, Rep. Jim Jordan chairs the Judiciary Committee. Yet, Republicans can't be really that stupid.  Sure, ignore country, world, Democracy and sanity, but will their highest priority be for Republicans to dominate on 5 November 2024?  Will that happen?  Doubt it. The same thing that jolted our nation on 6 January 2021 i...
