MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL AT MIDSEASON

Before I get into baseball, a further look at the fractious Epstein matter.   First some history : March 2005:  Police in Palm Beach Florida begin investigating Jeffrey Epstein after the family of a 14-year old girl reported she was molested at this mansion. He bought the place in 1990. Two miles south is Mar-a-Lago, which Donald Trump has owned since 1985. Epstein's home was razed  soon after it was sold in 2019. May 2006:  Palm Beach police charge Epstein with multiple counts of unlawful sex with a minor. June 2006:  Clearly, Epstein influenced State Attorney Barry Krischer, who sent the case to a grand jury that heard from only one accuser, so the only judgement was to charge Epstein with one count of solicitation of prostitution. July 2006:  FBI becomes suspicious and opens investigations into Epstein's activities not only in Florida, but also New York and elsewhere. 2007:  Federal prosecutors prepare an indictment against Epstein. June 2008:...

TRUMP vs MUSK AND MORE

I reached a milestone today, hitting 4 million viewers: Since my first blog on 29April2008, there have been 6792 postings.  Thus, an average of close to 600 readers/day.  221 countries have visited this site. Actually, in October of 2020 I reached the limit of how many labels I could use, so in parallel I initiated a  different location , which began accumulating another set of viewers, and this blog is up to 172,000 viewers.  So you have an option to read this second site, which has the same content, but looks different.  One of the photos I used in that initial  10October2020 posting  was of Phil Spector.  Why?  My #80 favorite song was featured,  To Know Him is to Love Him , and he started performing by writing that song and is one of the three Teddy Bears.  Then he later developed his wall of sound background music for which he is famous, married Ronnie Spector of the Ronettes and became mad, as in crazy.  Incidentall...

THE SHOCKING NUCLEAR WAR BETWEEN TRUMP AND MUSK

Time  magazine said it well this morning: When Musk left Trump’s side, he seemed suddenly cleared of any sense of loyalty. He started lobbing his problems with House Republicans’ "One Big Beautiful Bill." He called it an abomination, a debt bomb, a mistake that would cost incumbents their jobs if they didn’t reverse course. He said Trump would never have been elected without his financial help. (That one is probably right, as Musk was the single largest patron of efforts to get Trump back in power.) And, for good measure, in a social media post mid-afternoon Thursday, Musk said Trump is in the unreleased dossier about those involved in a sex trafficking operation of disgraced billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. As Trump responded in kind, the world was left watching a brawl involving two masters of the universe who, given their power and resources, could better the course of human history if only they would focus. Trump said Musk “went CRAZY!” Trump threatened to take away all contr...
