STORY OF ADOLF HITLER....an Opportunity for Donald Trump

But first, a thing or two about Opening Day for most of Major League Baseball.  I yesterday showed you how I was celebrating, spending essentially all of 9AM to 7PM, Hawaii Time, watching the games. That was brunch, and for the remainder of the day I had a variety of peanuts and chips with Johnny Walker Blue Label on rocks and a gin martini.  I also went down for a short dinner and had two glasses of Burgandy. Baseball is baseball, teams win and lose, inexplicably, making opening day mostly meaningless.  However, the  Los Angeles had quite a pre-game ceremony : Their ownership group, including Magic Johnson and Billie Jean King, raised the Dodger championship flag behind center field. In the audience was 92-year old Phil Brooks, a retired physician who was attending his 60th consecutive Dodger opening.  Accompanying him was his son Stan, only his 40th consecutive opener. Ice Cube, who has become a Dodger celebrity, drove up to pass on the World Series Championsh...

SEA ASPARAGUS and DEATH

First of all, there is no connection between Sea Asparagus and Death.  These are two different subjects.  The first has to do with an alert about one of my postings that failed to be published, but is now available.  Secondly, maybe President Donald Trump's various threats are working.  From the  New York Times  this morning: Since taking office, Trump has told several nations he would tax imports from their countries if they didn’t do what he wants. He said he would put a 25 percent tariff on products from Canada and Mexico and a 10 percent tariff on products from China  unless those countries stopped flows of drugs and migrants into the United States . He has also said he would put tariffs on Russia for waging war in Ukraine and on Denmark if it refused to cede the territory of Greenland. Colombia’s quick capitulation ( about accepting back illegal migrants)  this weekend may embolden Trump, raising questions for the rest of the world abo...

TIME PERSON OF THE YEAR 2025: DONALD TRUMP

I decided to skip summarizing our city stops on our 60-day journey.  You can read those postings at  Seattle ,  Chihuly Museum ,  Amsterdam  and  Zurich. As would be expected,  Time' s  2024 Person of the Year will be Donald Trump .   Is it  because he was the most fabulous individual of the year? Nope.  To quote. A person, group, idea, or object that "for better or for worse ... has done the most to influence the events of the year". [ 2 ] Time   points out that controversial figures such as   Adolf Hitler (1938);   Joseph Stalin   (1939 and 1942);   Nikita Khrushchev   (1957); and   Ayatollah Khomeini (1979) have also been granted the title for their impact on events. [ 16 ] Here, read the  Time  2January1939  article about Adolf Hitler .  Turns out that the just-elected president of the USA is now ALWAYS the Person of the Year. Other noteworthy selections. The first...
