LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY: A Blast from the Past

I've lived for at least three years in Hawaii, Washington DC, California and Louisiana.   Born in Honolulu and, aside from college, three years working for the U.S. Senate and travel, spent most my time in Hawaii. Had whole summers in California with the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory ( twice ) working on laser fusion and NASA Ames Research Center on the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence. 3 years and 7 months at Stanford University. 3 years and 7 months at Louisiana State University.  With close friends. Today, my nostalgic Tuesday topic will be LSU, for they just won the  76th college world series championship , in what might have been the best ever. Started with 64 teams in tournament play. #1 rated was Wake Forest, #2 Florida and #5 LSU. 8 teams survived the super regionals, those teams above, and Stanford, TCU, Oral Roberts, Virginia and Tennessee. The first time LSU and Wake Forest played, the Demon Deacons won, 3-2.  They faced each other two more times, and

SINGAPORE: Christmas on a Great Street

The prime attraction for Singapore is their annual   Christmas on a Great Street   lights.  Along Orchard Road from ION Orchard to Ngee Ann City, as well as outside Wheelock Place and Far East Shopping Centre, this is the 39th year of festive cheer.  On every night until January 2.  Simply dazzling! The Marriott Tang Plaza is right in the middle of this all.  During the day the view from our hotel room on the 26th floor. At night we took a walk along Orchard Road.  First, free drinks and snacks in our M Club.  Then, see that photo immediately above?  Here is a night photo. Swarms of people also walking on Orchard. Entertainment along the way.  Noticed signs showing how many parking spots were open in these buildings. Almost walked 10,000 steps. Then dinner.  Wagyu or Popeyes?  The latter won.  We had two beers and peanuts supplied by the hotel, so ate in our room with a view of the lights. The free breakfast buffet is better than the Fairmont's. Today, a visit to Singapore Botanica

One study showed the asymptomatic rate of the common cold was  60% You need to be careful with venereal diseases, for the asymptomatic rate is around  66% . So to continue,  here are where you are most likely to become a statistic of this pandemic : Crowded and poorly ventilated sport or entertainment theater: If no one is wearing a mask and are talking = 54%. Everyone is wearing a mask and there is some talking = 24% If everyone is wearing a mask and there is no talking = 5%. Speaking loudly  can increas
