WORLD PEACE

During the past few weeks I have focused on the theme of War and Peace on this nostalgic Tuesday.  However, I previously only analyzed the War portion.  This all  began on August 5  with my first  Huffington Post  article:   Well, Barack, We have a Problem.. ., which was published on 29May2008.  That initial  HuffPo  was an article on peace. On 23March2009 my  HuffPo  was entitled  The 10% Solution .  This essay provided details to that first attempt:  an ultimate plan to attain World Peace. The timing was right, for the world had suffered through the  Great Recession  from December 2007, and would continue through the date of this article into June 2009. The U.S. stock market had dropped 35%, but Chinese and Russian stocks fell 70%. There was no serious enemy during this period, for Iran was losing money producing oil, there were ragtag bunches of terrorists in the Middle East and North Korea was ...

WELL, BARACK, WE STILL HAVE A PROBLEM

Two weeks ago I indicated that on Tuesdays I would chronologically traipse through my past postings and selectively repeat the few that are important or monumental in some way.  However, I skipped last week and this, so will make it up today.  If I use one/month, it would take me 12 years to get to the present.  So clearly I need to be more selective.  Nevertheless, I only went one month from my  first one , but just had to choose  my blog of 31May2008  for featuring today, as it reported on my very first  Huffington Post  article.  Note that here and there I will add graphics and editorialize as necessary. SATURDAY, MAY 31, 2008 WELL, BARACK, WE HAVE A PROBLEM... ...and you have the power to provide the solution. Why you? The United States is the most powerful nation, ever. Today, and for the next generation, no other country will be anywhere close to our military and economic dominance. You will have a once in a millennium opportunity ...

That second mass shooting yesterday  ( I reported on the Atlanta killings yesterday--scroll down to the next posting ) could well trigger significant progress in gun legislation.  For the first time in a long time, Democrats are in control of all three, the Senate, House and White House, when significant incidents of this type previously occurred.   The shooter was Ahmad Al Aliwa Alissa, 21, who was born in the USA.  He killed ten, including a police officer.  He was captured alive, so we'll know why soon. Boulder is around 38 miles from Columbine.  It was almost 22 years ago that 12 students and a teacher were murdered by fellow students at Columbine High school .  Eric David Harris and Dylan Bennet Klebold both committed suicide that day As you know, there was an assault rifle ban in 1994 during a Democratic White House, but expired in 2004 when a Republican was president.  Gun control was on President Joe Biden's priority list, and these ...
