WELL, MAYBE THIS WILL NOT BE THE WEEK OF PEACE WITH IRAN

On Monday of last week, I indicated that nothing much would happen in world affairs.  Today, I hint that the next five days will probably be more newsworthy. I was planning to feature President Trump and his success at returning to the peace discussions with Iran, but no news about this happening any time soon, so I'll spend this Memorial Day on my topics of interest.  First, I'll continue what I said yesterday about how Ukraine is devilishly now making like uncomfortable for Russia and Putin .  The U.S, has significantly reduced sending aid, but NATO has taken over.  According to Google AI: Ukraine manufactures thousands of drones daily by relying heavily on imported commercial parts (primarily from China), rapid 3D printing, and agile startup ecosystems. European NATO funding and joint ventures play a massive role in scaling this up. [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ] Here is how the production and funding ecosystem works: 1. MEMORIAL DAY

For some, Memorial Day is the start of summer.  For many others, this is a national holiday to go shopping or rest or whatever.  For the nation, this a celebratory day established to honor those who gave their life to preserve freedom and liberty.   Call it a celebration of life.  This is also your special day for patriotism.   Specifically for me, observation began last night watching the  2025 National Memorial Day Concert  on the Mall, as I've been doing now for 36 years, except for 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic.  This show is also beamed to more than 175 countries and aboard more than 200 U.S. Navy ships at sea.  Up to half a million people watch in person. I especially revere this occasion because of another Mall event, A Capitol Fourth, the concert of the National Symphony Orchestra that began on July in 1979.  Went to the first one, and three more.  The 1980 concert was the first to be telecasted nationwide,...

THE PRICE OF FREEDOM

Today is Memorial Day, a national holiday to remember those who died in our wars, since the Revolutionary War, nearly 1.2 million military personnel.   Nearly half from the Civil War .  In comparison, those Covid-19 deaths passed 1.1 million in four years.  This day is a good time for you to reflect on their ultimate sacrifice as we continue to fight for freedom and justice around the world.  This not a happy day, but a meaningful one. From  Time  magazine : After the Civil war, was called Decoration Day to honor the graves of fallen Union soldiers at the end of May because of springtime blossoms. The holiday only became official in 1968. The day has shifted from solemnity to celebration, with American flags at half-mast and a moment of silence at 3PM. Finally, the price of freedom is expensive.   The USA spends more on defense than the next 9 countries, combined . There will be ceremonies at military graveyards, parades, barbecues and the li...
