Unless you have a personal interest in the 2023 budget of the U.S. Department of Energy, you will find much of the following awfully boring.  To begin, the White House sends its fiscal year 2023 request in March of 2022. Late in 2022 President Joe Biden signed this $1.7 trillion bill that will keep the government operating until the end of September of this year.
