By now you must know that Kamala Harris selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.  I said in  my posting yesterday  that he, Josh Shapiro and Mark Kelly were the favorites.  However: Walz is 60 years old, not from a battleground state and is not a particularly effective orator.  He simply has not done much. I also said that Shapiro and Kelly have serious flaws, so, the Walz pick makes a lot of sense. He is an ideal match. Caucasian male. Is a hunter who owns guns, but is a strong proponent of control. SORRY FOR THE DELAY.  THE INTERNET IN THIS BUILDING WAS OUT MOST OF THE DAY. This was a generally bad Monday for much of humanity, and tomorrow could well be pivotal.  Today is August 5, with the U.S. presidential election three months away on November 5.  I'll start with Mike Lukovich's latest cartoon, indicating what is happening to the Trump presidential campaign, which I guess is good news for Freedom. The world stock market might well be crashing: The  U.S.  Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 1,030.5 points ( -2.72% ), with the Nasdaq Composite  -3.38% and S&P 500 -3%. But the  Japan Nikkei had its worst day since 1987, falling 12.4% , mainly caused by disappointing U.S economic data. Some blamed the Federal Reserve for not acting expeditiously last week. European markets  were all down around 2% today. Is this a sign of a coming recession?   Yesterday I said that Democrats needed a miracle to stop Donald Trump.   Most miracles are quick, like Jesus walking on water.  This sudden and crucial turn of event for Democrats triggered by President Joe Biden deciding to drop out of the campaign, endorsing Kamala Harris, was key, but not the miracle. This delivered prayer for Democrats is unfolding. The  universal support for Harris, with potential competitors quickly pledging to be at her side, plus strong sense of relief from freedom-inclined world leaders, has energized the Democratic Party, totaling changing the chemistry of the 2024 presidential election.   That margin of difference--the 5 to 10 percent of potential voters who can still be swayed--has definitely switched from the high that Donald Trump has enjoyed for a couple of weeks, back to Democrats.
