THE MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI RIVER

Maybe the Mighty Mo, for the the Missouri River, is more prominent than the Mighty Mississippi, for the Missouri is the longest river in the USA, stretching for about 2341 miles.  The Mighty Mo is also the battleship USS Missouri, where the Japanese officially signed in Tokyo Bay the ending of World War II.  This Mighty Mo is now permanently docked in Pearl Harbor, serving as a museum.  About this Mighty Mo: Commissioned in 1944, making it 84 years old. Could move at a top speed of 38 MPH. Served in WWII, Korean War and Persian Gulf War. There are nine main guns, firing 16-inch projectiles up to 24 miles, and was upgraded to Tomahawk cruise and Harpon anti-ship missiles in 1980, increasing the range to 800 miles. Decommissioned in 1992, as were all American battleships. There are still active destroyers and cruisers with a striking range of 1000 miles.  Aircraft carrier planes such as the Super Hornet, can hit a target 575 miles away, but with long-range missiles. THE REALLY BIG CHINA PARADE

Donald Trump has wanted something this large, but Chinese President Xi Jinping pulled it off yesterday.  Marking the 80th anniversary of Japan's surrender in World War II, Tiananmen Square was the location of  China's Really Big Parade .  More magnificent than  Trump's 79th Birthday Parade  in DC this summer.  Twice as many soldiers marched, and twice as many aircraft flew over Ji's parade. Maybe more important than the event itself was who were there:  Russia's President Vladimir Putin, Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian and North Korea's Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, leaders of the Evil Axis.  Also: Besides Iran, North Korea, and Russia, heads of state or governments from more than a dozen other countries also   attended   the parade. These included a number of Southeast Asian countries—Cambodia, Laos,   Indonesia , Malaysia, Myanmar, and Vietnam—as well as Pakistan, Nepal, Mongolia, and the Maldives. Others in attendance included l...

VLADIMIR PUTIN and TAYLOR SWIFT

Been writing about the Putin-Trump summit in Alaska, which was somewhat disappointing.   However, various sources reported on the life of Vladimir Putin, and here is one where Mark Levin of Fox News digs into  Putin's behind-the-scenes life .   How Putin survived 43 assassination attempts . From ITV News a month ago,  the evolution of Putin:  bullied child, KGB man and autocrat .   From CNN a few years ago,  dark reason why Putin keeps his daughters a secret .  Has had only one wife, Lyudmila, now 67.  Top photo. 72-year old Putin lives with partner, 41-year old Alina Kabaeva, with whom they have 2 sons and also linked to 49-year old Svetlaana Krivonogikh and one daughter. Putin's Billion-Dollar Palace off the Black Sea, with views of his secret bunker. Taylor Swift announced that she will release her 12th studio album,   The Life of a Showgirl,   on October 3.  The world reacted in orange.  Huh?  You'l...

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP on THE ECONOMY and OTHER MATTERS

President Donald Trump said this weekend: Is not joking about a third term .  Which is better for the U.S. than he unilaterally just becoming a dictator. Will absolutely deliver on his massive  reciprocal tariff plan on April 2 .  He dubs it Liberation Day. Reasserted that the  U.S. would 100% annex Greenland . Will ban refugees....except for White South Africans .  Guess from where comes Elon Musk?  If so, how many refugees has so far expressed interest?   67,000 . Will approve Canadian firm, The Metals Company, to  mine the deep seabed , circumventing international law, drawing denouncement from 40 countries. Lethargic help to Myanmar  recovering from the damage caused by a 7.7 earthquake.  USAID cuts reduces our ability to provide assistance worldwide. Very angry and pissed off at Vladimir Putin  for continuing the Ukraine-Russia War, a first for Trump, who has been giving the Ukraine house away. From the New York Time...
