A BIG DEAL ABOUT THE WAR WITH IRAN

Well, the big deal today is that Iran and the USA agreed to talk about ending the now 108-day long war, and open up the Strait of Hormuz. There will be a signing of this document in Geneva, Switzerland on Friday, on Day 112. Note that this agreement is not quite to end the war.  Only another 60-day ceasefire to negotiate ending the war. But neither President Donald Trump, nor Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, nor President Masoud Pezeshkian will participate.  Israel is not part of this signing, so no President Benjamin Netanyahu either. The key signers will be Veep JD Vance and Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi. And, incidentally, SL Khamenei remains in hiding, and has not made even one public appearance since succeeding his father.  Why?  Pretty obvious that Israel will try to assassinate him, too. This is not a peace agreement.  Only a 60-day ceasefire. What about that nuclear matter?  Up for discussion. Around $25 billion of blocked Iran as...

THE EAGLES

Some have compared the American rock band, The Eagles, with the British Beatles.  Don Henley of the Eagles has said that while they are now and then mentioned, the Beatles are in a league of their own. The Beatles performed from 1960 to 1970, and only toured from 1961 to 1966.   Beatlemania spanned from late 1963 to their final commercial concert at Candlestick Park in San Francisco on 29August 1966. They released 213 songs, 188 original compositions and 25 covers. The Eagles formed in Los Angeles in 1971, blending country, folk and soft rock. The Eagles were founded in 1971 by Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner. Blended country, folk and soft rock.  Linda Ronstadt tapped them as her backing band for her third solo studio album in 1972 before they took off with their debut later that year.  Later members included Joe Walsh, Don Felder and Timothy Schmit. Their 1976-released Greatest Hits took half a century, but this year became the first al...

CABO SAN LUCAS

This is day seven of our cruise.  We are off the coast of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.  The next three days will see stops in Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo and Acapulco.  How many tours will we take?  None.  Been there, done all that, but nice weather.  Sunny with a high of 86F.  This condition will prevail until Acapulco, when rain is expected. While cruise tours are very safe,  Mexico is always a concern .  The State Department notes that violent crime is common and widespread in Mexico.  They recommend that travelers reconsider travel to Baja California because of crime and kidnapping.  About Cabo San Lucas, the advisory says don't walk around at night and leave the bling at home.  Never take your eyes off your belongings.  Be careful around ATMs.  Be on guard for pickpockets.  Same for all the other mentioned cities.  In other words, if you go to Mexico, do it on a cruise ship. A week from now we will be a...
