The Explorer arrived in Port Klang, Malaysia, which is 33 miles from Kuala Lumpur, the capital of the country.  We took the highlights of KL ( people here refer to Kuala Lumpur as KL ) tour.   Area of 94 square miles and population just under 2 million and growing. The urban agglomeration includes 7.6 million. Is the 6th most-visited city. First developed as a town in 1857 serving tin mines. Should you wish, there is HO-HO. When the 88-story Petronas Towers were built in 1998 at 1483 feet tall they were the tallest skyscrapers in the world.  They remain the #1 highest twin towers.  I remember visiting the towers when I came to KL in the late 1990's. Earlier this year the 118-story  Merdeka 118  was built to a height of 2228 feet, #2 to the 2717 feet Burj Khalifa.  Merdeka means independence.  It is not quite yet completed and will open next year. Today, no pandemic, no Trump coup attempt, no gun rights...only pure joy.  I'll start with planning for our Fall trip.  We need to be in Okinawa at the end of October. Our initial thought was to begin on October 3 to catch the  Celebrity Eclipse  in Honolulu for an 18-night cruise to Singapore.  Then find a way to Okinawa and return home, Well, our current plan now is to go first to the Okinawa festival, then on November 3 fly to Tokyo, where we will have a home base at the Tokyo Westin. Do a one week Japan Rail Pass from November 6 to Nagoya, Hiroshima, Miyazaki, Kyoto, Nagoya, Sendai and back to Tokyo on November 13. Fly to Singapore on November 15. Fly to Dubai on November 18. 21-night cruise from Dubai to Singapore on the  Regent Seven Seas Explorer . Cost.  Expensive, but a good deal is being offered. Interesting stops.
