LIFE AT 15 CRAIGSIDE

SORRY, BUT MY POSTING ON THE LIGHTER SIDE OF ENERGY WAS MISTAKENLY NOT PUBLISHED YESTERDAY.  You can link to it HERE .  But about today, first a digression into Donald Trump, who is on such a roll.  Looks like sentencing on the New York conviction will be delayed until after he un-becomes president again, and the trials in Georgia are in trouble.   So why would he and Elon Musk want to close down the country ?  The bipartisan agreement announced yesterday to continue to fund the government was derailed by the two of them.  Maybe not such a big deal because all essential services will continue, and only the not-so important services will be stopped, like the closing of national parks.  I guess if they kept this up until the new Congress steps in on 3January2025, Democrats can't appoint any new judges, and stuff like that. I was sent the following this morning about Donald Trump.   https://www.scmp.com/magazines/style/celebrity/article/3141422...

MANZANILLO, MEXICO

We arrived in Manzanillo, Mexico this morning. A light lunch of noodles and soup, with a gin&tonic and rosé wine. I show my pedometer because I awoke at 12:30 PM, walked to the buffet, and after going back and forth to pick up edibles, walked about three-fourths of a mile. The temperature, according to one internet report was 88F.  Checked AccuWeather, and it was 91F.  Surely was closer to 91F. Available were tours: Cuyutlan Turtle Sanctuary  5.5 hours, $130/person. Magic Pueblos Nogueras and Comala with Lunch  7 hours, $169/person (and lunch is free on board) Plantation Mangroves Tunnels and Birds  5 hours  $149/person Further they left around 8AM or earlier.  So no tours on this stop. Anyone ever been to Manzanillo? 1600 miles south of San Diego and 2575 miles from the Panama Canal. So named because of the abundant groves of native Manzanilla mangroves. Again, conquistador Hernán Cortes was responsible for the founding, for he sent Gonzalo de San...

CHRISTMAS PHOTOS

This Christmas we're doing nothing.  Sort of a continuation of our recent Japan trip when we mostly did nothing.  Mind you, nothing is great.  I live in Honolulu and this is the view from my computer as I start this posting. The temperature outside is 76 F, and there is a zero chance of rain if I wanted to go out on Christmas Eve.  The temperature for the rest of the week will reach a low in the very high 60's, and highs around 78 F. But since I'm doing nothing this weekend, I'm showing Christmas photos from the past.   A year ago we were in Singapore. In 2021  the Christmas tree on my 15 Craigside floor had a rainbow backdrop. From 2020 , Medellin River in Columbia and Garden by the Bay, Singapore. In 2017  I was on VIA Rail from Vancouver to Toronto.  Saw a lot of snow. In 2016 , went to a Christmas show. In 2015 I had a  staycation at the Waikiki Sheraton , followed by an  annual Christmas dinner  at Betsy and Harvey's....
