Nothing much is changing today, so far. The  Los Angeles County wildfire  continues, with the Pacific Palisades and Eaton fires still burning. Trump cabinet confirmation hearings  doing well, with no bumps in the road today. The hoped for first phase of  peace in the Gaza Strip  still seems ready to occur on Sunday, January 19. President Joe Biden made his farewell address,  and warned against the influence of the super-rich.  Surely sounds like the coming of a dictatorship featuring oligarchs, as in Russia. Kilauea Volcano inside Halemaumau Crater  still erupting .  It comes and goes, and is now again active. It took me two weeks, but I watched all 9 episodes of Squid Game Season 1 and 7 episodes of the second season.  Each chapter is about an hour long.  I normally would be discrete about sharing too much from these productions, but will make an exception for this series. The largest airplane, Stratolaunch  ( by wingspan ), flew for the second time last month, a decade after first imagined by someone I mentioned this past Sunday , Paul Allen, who with Bill Gates founded Microsoft.  Unfortunately, Allen never saw it take flight.  Read the details here . That plane will be reminiscent of Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose , the wooden ( made of birch, not spruce ) Flying Boat that was originally designed to ferry American troops to Europe to avoid being sunk by German submarines.  It was six times larger than any aircraft of its time, and made only one flight, in 1947.  The plane can today be found, of all the places, in McMinnville, Oregon, where volunteers are trying to restore it. Did you know the USA has a  Doomsday Plane ? This actually rarely happens.  I sat at my computer this morning, and couldn't think of what spiritual subject matter to post on this Sunday.  My TV sports-watching is in the doldrums, for all my fantasy baseball and football teams are essentially out of the running...already for the NFL.  At least I don't live in New York, whose two pro teams are 0-10 for the year, and no one in the upcoming World Series. I noticed that this is day 292 for the Year 2020, with  74 days remaining, meaning that I am right on track for reaching #1 close to New Year's Eve.  Further, and more importantly, I remain euphoric and in good health, so all is terrifically well in my cocoon called 15 Craigside.   To celebrate, I'll even skip the usual COVID-19 data from Worldometer ( you can click on that to see for yourself about today, which is always abnormally low on Sundays ).  Nothing today about this pandemic, nor Donald Trump, which should be a relief.
