The Supreme Court today declined to judge whether Donald Trump is immune from prosecution. Sent appeal back to the D.C. judiciary system. A good victory for him to delay any important trials until after the 5November2024 presidential election. Except: A D.C. district judge has already ruled that Trump cannot claim presidential immunity for his role in the attack on the Capital on 6January2021. The D.C. Circuit Court has scheduled oral arguments for January 9, and could well move relatively quickly, adding another nail to his coffin. But Trump will appeal, and this matter will eventually get to the Supreme Court. The SC could then delay judgement until after the election. But it might not. Then there is that Georgia case , where he will be on trial from August 5. If the Supreme Court does not act, the trial will go on, and all that negative publicity will ruin him.
