The future of Democracy for the USA got a boost from former Congresswoman Liz Cheney and her father, former  Congressman, Vice President under George W. Bush and White House Chief of Staff for President Gerald Ford.  Like JD Vance, Dick Cheney graduated from Yale.  Liz is a law school graduate from the University of Chicago. Better yet, it appears that Liz will campaign with Harris as needed and the  Harris-Walz team raised $361 million August, triple that of Trump-Vance .  Plus all those  additional campaign volunteers  to boost their ground game. The highlight of this coming week is the Donald Trump vs Kamala Harris debate. I remember the first air flight I ever took.  I must have been around 10 years old, and it was from Honolulu to Kahului.  Visited relatives.  One cousin is now a doctor living in New York City, married to a psychiatrist.  Saw Hayden Mango for the first time.  It was large, beautiful and sweet.  I was only familiar with Common and Chinese Mangos.  Anyway, yesterday was my final day on Maui.  I had a small adventure.  Make it tiny.  I walked from the Pride of America all the way to Maui Mall, for the primary purpose of tasting Guri-Guri. Lunch of pork cutlet and pasta fagioli soup, with beer and a rose wine. Off I am to have Guri-Guri. Found Tasaka Guri Guri...and it was closed for Labor Day. But I had to have something, so went elsewhere and ordered a lychee boba.  This is that drink from Taiwan with tapioca balls. Found a table with a view of the Pride of America. Walked back to the ship. The ship left Kahului before sunset for Hilo...

This blog site has too much recently focused on natural disasters and Donald Trump, so today, an escape into sports. Must start with Spain beating England for their first  soccer World Cup .  From utter turmoil to triumph, what a story.   The women had revolted against their Spanish soccer authority, and lost that battle .  Perhaps 12 of their best players might have been missing in Australia.  Yet, they're world champs.  Incredible. Oh, I drafted three ESPN NFL fantasy football teams yesterday.  Took me two hours.   Mind you, it is FREE. Had no idea what I was doing, but ended up, I think, with competitive teams.   First kick-off is not until the day after my birthday, a game between Detroit and Kansas City  (I have Mahomes and Kelce ) on September 7.  I'll be on the Pride of America between the Big Island and Kauai.
