VICE PRESIDENTIAL RUNNING MATES AND THIRD PARTY CANDIDATES

Well,   Judge Scott McAfee ruled today   that Fani Willis can continue her role in the trials against Donald Trump and his cronies, but boyfriend Nathan Wade, the special prosecutor on this case, must go.   Boy, it would be nice if Willis can now get former Georgia Governor,   Roy Barnes , to serve in this role.  He was the person first asked to do this.  He looks old, but now in his mid-70's, remains convincing. In any event, one more case against Donald Trump now sure to happen before the November 5 election.  The status? The New York Hush Money trial will be pushed back at least until May. The Florida documents trial will also be somewhat delayed. The DC January 6 trial for Trump's failed coup attempt is awaiting a Supreme Court decision.  Hearings later next month with a decision probably before the Republican Nation Convention in July.  I suspect this trial will begin in September when the Supreme Court says Trump is not immune. A BAD DAY FOR DONALD TRUMP

Yesterday was maybe Donald Trump's last best day, save for that announcement about his New York Hush Money criminal trial, which was confirmed to start on March 25.  Today, however, was a lot worse.  Several key late-breaking news stories occurred just about when I this morning sat before my computer. Just as I'm typing this,  Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that Donald Trump must pay $355 million in penalties , is banned from doing business in New York for 3 years and will get an independent monitor and compliance director to oversee Trump's businesses. Each of his two sons, Don Jr. and Eric, were ordered to pay $4 million each, so the judgement is $363 million.  To quote: "Their complete lack of contrition and remorse borders on pathological," Engoron wrote.
