15 Craigside Place is 2.5 miles up the hill from the Pier 2 terminal, where we will board the Pride of America this afternoon, and return to Honolulu in a week.  You might wonder, why again?  Yes,  we took this cruise a year ago , and was nothing much.  I guess we like cruises to enhance the joy of life.  In addition, for this ship, we don't need to take lengthy plane rides and pay huge sums for any hotel stay. Most tourists to Hawaii fly into Honolulu and spend most of the time in Waikiki, perhaps taking an around Oahu tour and a luau.  Some are more adventurous, flying to at least another island, which takes packing and moving about.  If you want to see all of Hawaii, the best way is to take Norwegian's Pride of America on a 7-day cruise that begins and ends on Saturday.  I've done this maybe half a dozen times, and enjoyed all of them, and have reservations to do this again on September 2.   That will be a grand nine-day period, for the Hawaii football team hosts Stanford on September 1 and women's volleyball welcomes the University of Southern California.  Then the following weekend, Hawaii plays Albany ( they have a football team?? ) at home, while the women's V-ball team has a tournament at The Stan with Liberty, UCLA and Pepperdine. Our 7-day Norwegian Pride of American cruise through the Hawaiian Islands ended yesterday.  We had not traveled for 27 months, so the escape was adventurous, considering the state of this pandemic, and a bit stressful, because of COVID-19.  However, it was supremely enjoyable, especially when we tested negative on our return home to 15 Craigside.  For those considering a cruise in the near future, perhaps these thoughts can be useful, especially if you decide on the Pride of America. When all the tips and taxes are added, we paid nearly $600/person/day.  I thought this was rather high for the type of ship, services and accomplishments, especially as we took no tours.
