WAR vs PEACE

Ah, the War with Iran: For the ninth night in a row, the USA bombed Iran. Iran continues to essentially close the Strait of Hormuz, plus, Houthi allies again have indicated that they might block Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the other main oil route .  Combine, 27% of world petroleum passes through these straits. I asked Google AI:  Will the U.S. invade Kharg Island? As of July 2026, there is no official date or definitive plan announced for a U.S. invasion of Kharg Island . President Donald Trump has publicly floated the idea of seizing the island—which handles about 90 percent of Iran's crude oil exports—but military planners and officials are still weighing the logistical risks and strategic fallout of such an operation. [ 1 , 2 , 3 ] Current Status: Trump has hosted Situation Room meetings to discuss potential ground troop deployments and the possible seizure of energy infrastructure. While no timeline has been set, Trump stated in mid-June that the U.S. will be taking the isl...

A SPLASH OF COLOR: A Simple Way to Boost Happiness

Things are not going well for the USA: We got booted out of the FIFA World Cup. The war with Iran has returned, and petroleum prices have jumped up. President Donald Trump alienated our allies in the NATO Summit held in Turkey.   The New York Times indicated, perhaps now, Kharg Island could be invaded: Speaking at the NATO summit in Turkey yesterday, President Trump threatened major new combat operations against Iran, including the seizure of Kharg Island, where Iran stages its oil for world markets, and attacks on the country’s infrastructure and desalination plants. On March 14, about 2 weeks into this war with Iran , I indicated that his compelling invasion was inevitable. Graham Platner withdrew from his U.S. Senate race against incumbent Susan Collins. This action is an okay thing, but there is no Democrat in Maine with any kind of drawing power to beat an incumbent, except, maybe, current Governor Janet Mills.   However, Mills is 78 years old and dropped out o...

IS A VELOMOBILE THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY FOR HUMANS TO TRAVEL?

Today is a Wednesday, which for me is usually sci-tech day.  But a few newsworthy notes first. Inflation last month reached 4.2%, the highest level in three years .  Of course, part of this problem is the war in Iran, for gasoline alone jumped 7%, up 40.5% in the the past year. I yesterday reported that for the 38th time since this Iran war started, President Donald Trump promised a peace deal was close ?  Well, apparently not now, for he today said Iran is playing us for suckers , and we will hit them...hard.  Very hard.  What will that be? It was on March 14, two weeks after the U.S. and Israel first bombed Iran, that I predicted an obvious future target was Kharg Island .   The next day, I posted the following: How likely will this happen?  Well, In a 1988 interview , Trump indicated that if Iran tries to make us looking like a bunch of fools, I would go and and take Kharg Island . Then two weeks later, I further provided key reasons why he ...
