I was a junior at Stanford and not totally satisfied with my choice to become a chemical engineer.  I had at that point actually taken more art courses than those in ChE.  I always had an artistic flare, and when I graduated in ChE, I almost went to Sophia University in Tokyo to pursue my interest in art.  My more responsible self kept me on my path to become what I am today, But going back to 1960, I looked into becoming an architect or architectural engineer.  To do so meant I had to spend a extra year and half making up courses.  But I've kept up with this field, which will lead today to an architect no one has ever heard of, Shaun Killa.   Haven't said much about the Jumeirah Emirates Tower Hotel.  In short, good location, but disappointing, considering the $750/night price.  The hotel staffing is also deficient, except that the restaurant people are nice and efficient.  I wouldn't stay here again.  Lobby and our view. For dinner Saturday night we went to Mundo, a buffet, which had a wide assortment of stations.  Here are just a few. That was my first course.  For Sunday breakfast we went back to Mundo, which had, of course, a similar assortment of dishes. We took a stroll to the Museum of the Future, for there is a convenient walkway there from the hotel. Inside view of museum. Walked outside. Our hotel is to the right, and that view we saw yesterday is that arena below.
