WHY DEMOCRATS WILL RETAIN CONTROL OF THE U.S. CONGRESS AT THE UPCOMING 2022 MIDTERM ELECTIONS

There are more Independents in the U.S. than Republicans or Democrats.   At the turn of the century, there were equal numbers of Independents, Republicans and Democrats.   Today : Independents  44% Democrats  30% Republicans  25% Independents swing their votes for a variety of reasons.  What is happening today, and will continue until November of 2022, is the slate of issues that will mostly tarnish Republican candidates: Abortion rights :  the Supreme Court decided to side with Texas Gun rights :  The current Congress will not pass any meaningful gun control law, for you need 60 votes in the Senate. With every new shooting, the public will want more controls. Voting rights :  many state legislatures have introduced and passed bill to restrict the right to vote. Democracy and the January 6 attack on the U.S. Congress.   Watch Republican Liz Cheney  discuss the Meadows resolution. Donald Trump. He remains the leader of the party. His character and all those upcoming court cases will

IS THIS OUR NEW DEMOCRACY?

The number of new COVID-19 cases is now increasing in the U.S.: With all those vaccinated, why is this happening?  For one, only  48% of Americans  were fully vaccinated as of yesterday.   Further : An Associated Press analysis of available government data from May shows that “breakthrough” infections in fully vaccinated people accounted for fewer than 1,200 of more than 107,000 COVID-19 hospitalizations. That’s about 1.1% . Furthermore: And only about 150 of the more than 18,000 COVID-19 deaths in May were in fully vaccinated people. That translates to about 0.8%, or five deaths per day on average. The July 4th weekend is being blamed for this upsurge.  Just about every COVID-19 death today is thus preventable.  JUST GET VACCINATED!!!  NOW!!!  And it's free.  Go to just about  any pharmacy , like CVS or Walgreens.  Save your life during your lunch period, or on the way home.  It's only your own life at stake, and mostly too those of your co-workers, family and friends.  No vac

WHAT TO WATCH ON TV

First, noteworthy topics of the day that will become newsworthy: The  Supreme Court  announced a unanimous ruling that, while very narrow in application, opened the floodgates for college student-athletes getting paid like professionals.  Essentially, the NCAA was admonished.  States like Alabama, Florida and Texas are close to allowing students to sign endorsements, etc. Medicaid membership is now up to 80 million, a record high. The Democrats won over Senator Joe Manchin, but need to also convince ten Republicans to pass the  voting rights legislation .  It will, of course, fail, but that was expected anyway, and will only further plague Republicans when they re-run for election in 2022. The Tokyo Summer Olympics begin in about a month, and will close on 8 August 2021.  More than 11,000 athletes will perform from 205 nations in 33 sports and 50 disciplines. Tokyo beat Istanbul to host. It's still officially called the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. The new national stadium was bui
