A BAD DAY FOR DONALD TRUMP

Yesterday was maybe Donald Trump's last best day, save for that announcement about his New York Hush Money criminal trial, which was confirmed to start on March 25.  Today, however, was a lot worse.  Several key late-breaking news stories occurred just about when I this morning sat before my computer. Just as I'm typing this,  Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that Donald Trump must pay $355 million in penalties , is banned from doing business in New York for 3 years and will get an independent monitor and compliance director to oversee Trump's businesses. Each of his two sons, Don Jr. and Eric, were ordered to pay $4 million each, so the judgement is $363 million.  To quote: "Their complete lack of contrition and remorse borders on pathological," Engoron wrote. "Instead, they adopt a 'See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil' posture that the evidence belies." The  Fani Willis disqualification hearing Atlanta provided two strong witnesses to back Willi

OUR LIFESTYLE AT 15 CRAIGSIDE

Taylor Swift arrived at LAX yesterday, went to one of her homes in Southern California, and will make it to Las Vegas today for Super Bowl 58.  But that's old news.  The biggest question of the day is not who wins the game.  Will she join Usher on the stage at half time?  After all,  Usher in 2011 performed with Swift  Yeah  at her 2011 Speak Now tour in Atlanta.   Here is  their duet .  That would in Las Vegas possibly become a foursome, with Lil Jon and Ludacris. Incidentally, do you know that she  owns eight homes,  investing $150 million of her $570 million in them? Two in Los Angeles, both in Beverly Hills.  One of them is a 1934 10,982-square-foot mansion purchased in 2015, first owned by Samuel Goldwyn. Living at 15 Craigside ( not that temple, but the apartment just behind--I lived for 32 years at an adjacent taller Craigside you can barely see ) involves a plethora of activities, comfortably safe environment and long term security.  Of course, this doesn't mean you can

EARTHQUAKE, TRUMP, BIDEN, HALEY AND CHINESE NEW YEAR

Whoa, we just had a  6.3 magnitude earthquake  close to Loihi, that seamount on the southeast side of the Big Island.  The water in my aquarium almost overflowed.  I was sitting next to the window and wondered if I should move to the bathroom.  It was somewhat scary.  Reminded me of the  7.1 earthquake  I wrote about in the  Huffington Post  when I was in Tokyo just after that  Great Tohoku Earthquake in 2011 . Donald Trump had a great day yesterday , while  Joe Biden  did not.  He got irritated with the report on his confidential info problem, especially with special investigator Robert Hur, who indicated that perhaps Biden had some memory problems.  The matter of his age seems now to be his biggest stumbling block. Then, there was a  poll by NBC showing that he trailed Trump 47% to  42% .  Here is where he is hurting the most:  16 points behind Trump on being "competent and effective."  In 2020 Biden led on this matter by 9 points.  The economy?  Trump has a 22-point advant
