MY LIFE: Part 3d

But first, a Supreme Court decision today that will give Republicans a big advantage in the upcoming midterm elections and into the future .   Essentially the justices struck down campaign spending limits, allowing corporations to donate as any citizen can.  Further: The three major Republican committees — the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee — ended May with $256 million in cash and no debt. That was more than double the roughly $126 million held by their Democratic counterparts, who also carried more than $18 million in debt . The White House also, can more easily be corrupt, legally. One plus for Democracy is that, now, President Donald Trump will more comfortably allow the midterm elections to proceed on November 3, which is a little more than four months away. Who is the most popular politician in the USA?   From Time magazine. Nostalgia Tuesday is today, so back...
Well, Honolulu remains beautiful.  A couple of photos from where I sit composing this posting. There have been good trips and bad.  Since I retired a quarter century ago, the 50 or so I've taken have all been good to great.  However, I've been thinking about all my travels, and a few did not go right. Some particularly worried me.  For the next few Tuesday nostalgia days, I'll focus on the worst ones.  There was danger in Papua New Guinea, concern that I might not be able to leave China, an incident at Machu Picchu, Peru, the weirdness of Cairo, Egypt and scare in Delhi, India.  These experiences were sufficient so that I can't imagine my ever returning to those countries. I will visit Seoul, Hanoi and other parts of Vietnam, Cambodia, Chiang Mai and Bangkok in Thailand, New Delhi, Barcelona, Munich, Helsinki, Copenhagen, A...

Trump had a press conference with Benjamin Netanyahu in the White House, the first world leader to do so.  Shockingly, Trump indicated that the USA will take over the Gaza Strip.   Watch this video .  Previously, he took credit for brokering this peace, but new American boots on the ground in the Middle East is almost beyond the pale. China is the only country currently struck with Trump's tariff, 10%, and announced a counter tariff. Remember my travels to China and how this blog site had problems because of the ongoing  fuss with Google , which began in 2...
