FINAL DETAILS ABOUT THE MILAN-CORTINA 2026 WINTER OLYMPICS

So you thought the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics will start on Friday.   Nope, today....Wednesday . Yes, today, you can see preliminaries for Curling, Luge, Snowboarding and Alpine skiing. Women's Ice Hockey preliminary rounds begin on Thursday, February 5:  U.S. versus Czechia at 10:40AM ET.  The American team goes on to play Finland on Friday, February 7 at 10:40AM ET, Switzerland at 2:40PM ET on Sunday and Canada on Monday at 2:10PM ET.  Finals in Milan on February 19.  They are favored to beat Canada for the gold medal. The Opening Ceremony is on Friday, February 6, 2PM ET or 9AM Hawaii time. Then on Saturday, February 7, the first medal event, Men's Downhill Alpine Skiing.  Closing ceremony on Sunday, February 22, at the Verona Arena.  At 2PM ET on Peacock, with the Prime broadcast on NBC at 8PM ET. THE MILANO-CORTINA 2026 WINTER OLYMPICS

But first, something more about  gold,  a metal I featured yesterday in this blog.  Well, after hitting an all-time high of $5,594.82/ounce, settled at $5,149.99/oz, 4% lower today.  However, spot prices still up 19% for January and 3.6% this week. I should add that silver is also jumping high, then similarly dropping 6% to $108.84/ounce, after reaching $121.64/oz.  This metal has surged more than 50% this year.  Finally, platinum, too, is following the same path, hitting a record high of $2,918.80/oz on Monday, then falling 1.7% to $2,650/oz. We are 10 days to the start of the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics in Italy.  Everything you need to know about these Olympics : Will run from February 6 through 22. Venues will include Milan, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Valtellina, Val di Fiemme and Anterselva. Remember that Italy is 6 hours ahead of New York, 9 hours from Los Angeles and 11 hours from Honolulu. A NEXT STEP TOWARDS THE BLUE REVOLUTION

Had lunch yesterday with a colleague from Norway, Lars Golmen, and his family.  We mostly talked about world affairs and our past.  However, the discussion eventually settled on next generation fisheries, ocean thermal energy conversion, the Blue Revolution, and our possible plans to re-establish a global plan to accomplish these various tasks.
