The U.S. Supreme Court this morning declared that Donald Trump does have immunity for official acts!!!    In other words, they took the guardrails off his power if he becomes the next president.  When you add to this monumental judgement the awful performance of Joe Biden at the presidential debate last week, and you know what Trump will do if he gets re-elected, one can only wonder if this is just the beginning of the end of Democracy in the United States. That above paragraph is, actually, an exaggeration of the reality.  Trump and the MAGA movement, of course, are ecstatic and now emboldened by SCOTUS's action.  However, here is what actually happened: The vote could have gone 5-4 against Trump, because there are the three liberal female associate justices and five conservatives.  However, Amy Barrett was only barely in the winner's side corner, and Chief Justice John Roberts, while also siding with the majority, had some cautionary words.   This will be a crucial week for Donald Trump.   Might begin okay today, as  Judge Aileen Cannon continues to hear arguments  regarding the classified documents trial dealing with specifics of the case.  Being a Trump appointee, Cannon has already made too many concessions to Trump's team, for she could well be replaced.    In any case, all these matters must be on the mind of Trump when he should be focused on the June 27 debate against Joe Biden, while awaiting the Supreme Court's decision on immunity from prosecution for his attempted coup on 6January2021.   In any case, the worst Trump could get in this trial would be a small slap on the wrist.  There is so little time and more important matters upcoming. There are two stories that head a list of newsworthy items, both covered by President Joe Biden in a press conference today: The purpose was to provide an advanced notice of  upcoming peace talks between Israel and the Hamas about the Gaza Strip .  He went on the air as Sabbath began in Israel.  What is noteworthy about this announcement is that the president of the United States first mentioned this process.  This was bold and rare, indicating that he probably was given the go-ahead by Prime Minister Netanyahu, who will either confirm or not this process at sunset tomorrow.  Who knows what the Hamas will say.  One more point in Biden's speech is that hinted were about the prospects of a peace agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel, which will certainly not occur this year, but something to work on for the four years after relection. As an opening, he remarked on the Trump guilty verdict, reaffirming  the American principle that no one is above the law .   Further:   Donald Trum
