TENNOJI PARK

Today was a day of rest in Osaka.  We decided to walk down to Tennoji Park, located just below our building.  It was almost late for lunch, so we asked the concierge what was the best close by restaurant.  She advised  KYK for pork tonkatsu. There are three whole floors of restaurants within our building as part of Kintetsu.  Kintetsu combines Kinki Nippon Tetsudo, and is a railway company, which also operates a department store.

So the above exhibit is what we ordered.
Perhaps the best pork tonkatsu I've ever had.  Then off to Tennoji Park, where we were met by my Blue-bar Pigeon.
Saw cherry trees with some bloom left.
As this was a Saturday, the outside shopping booth lane was packed.
Lots to eat.
We thought it was interesting that many stalls featured Hawaii fashion and food.  Note the huli-huli above..
This was because there was an ongoing Hawaiian Festival, featuring hula groups.
Tennoji Park also has a zoo, art museum and garden.  We chose to skip those, and returnd back to our hotel.
Our nightly club lounge meal with drinks.
Walked 4146 steps, around two miles.
Tomorrow, Day 2 of the Osaka Expo.

THE ENIGMATIC PHIL SPECTOR

The first presidential debate of Donald Trump and Joe Biden ended up in a near tie.  Both lost.  However, it was an unmitigated disaster for Biden, who just might be too old to win this re-election. For Trump, it was a reinforcement of what he does all the the time, lie.   There will be significant calls for the Democratic Party to work out "something" to replace Biden as their presidential candidate.  Suddenly, Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom and Michelle Obama are added to the spotlight.  But what can "legally" occur at the August Democratic Convention? The situation is different on the Republican side, as Trump is the Republican Party, and no matter if he gets 4 years at his felony sentencing on July 9, or even if the Supreme Court determines he is not immune next week or later, he will be the presidential candidate. Trump is a damned boastful liar and convicted felon, but that is the only option for Republicans.  His vice-presidential choice now become...
