What is an ultimate solution? From the Collins Dictionary.
A solution to a problem or difficult situation is a way of dealing with it so that the difficulty is removed.
Webster links the final solution to the Nazi program for the extermination of all Jews in Europe.
What was the ultimate/final solution for Adolf Hitler? If you feel he is a danger, then you find a way to eliminate him. Can you believe historians have uncovered 42 ultimate solution plots?
- The first was in 1932 when poison was used in the Hotel Kaiserhof in Berlin. He happened to be a vegetarian, so was not much affected.
- You can read about the other 40, but the final attempt was led by Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg on 20July1944.
- You might have seen the 2008 film Valkyrie, with Tom Cruise as Stauffenberg. They looked alike.
- All attempts failed. Stauffenberg was executed on 21July1944.
- Hitler committed suicide on 30April1945. He was only 56 years old.
My posting yesterday had to do with a possible Republican plan to win the presidency. Here is a quote from that article:
- So if the Koch Brothers are so distrustful of Trump, what if he is allowed to run and wins?
- And it would be worse if it was Haley, indeed, who made the crucial difference.
- Sometimes you need to gamble, especially if you have good reasons.
The point is that the Koch Brothers don't want Trump to be re-elected, so do they have an ultimate solution to insure for success? I was tempted to include the above yesterday, but decided not to, for I can't imagine anything like that was on their minds.
In the meantime, I decided that my posting tomorrow will be On the Matter of Death, so I thought, not the responsibility of the Koch Brothers, nor Nikki Haley, but the lightning rod called Donald Trump is a candidate for anyone crazy or desperate enough to commit a final solution. He, himself, has caused turmoil for a range of individuals, like E. Jean King, just from what he says. It might be divine justice for a reversal. So a hint that fascists like Adolf Hitler who faced this form of reactionary jeopardy in history was a worthy topic. But I'll leave this subject at this amorphous level of conjecture for resolution in the future. Tomorrow will be controversial in a different way.
That would be too depressing to end a Saturday, so what about some Elvis? He would have been 89 years old today. Well, that AI depiction of what he would have looked like does not help, but the following will be entertaining.
- From the Got Talent shows, three of them.
- You'll love Andy Kaufman.
- Bruno Mars as Elvis in 1991, third of a century ago. From his youth in Hawaii, he was come a long way.
- Shawn Klaus of the USA went to England and was selected as the Greatest Elvis. But that was 14 years ago.
- From Graceland, the 2023 Greatest Elvis was Cote Deonath.
