Summary:
- No doubt now that the World has entered into a fourth wave of new deaths/day.
- Interestingly enough, while new cases per day has risen a bit in the USA, most of these new cases are not any longer old people, who got vaccinated. Thus the daily death rate has remained somewhat constant. Still too high, but not a fourth wave.
From the New York Times:
Good morning. Travel is ticking back up, and “vaccine passports” could play a big role.
|
Countries are approaching travel differently. The Biden administration has said that it will leave the development of a vaccine passport in the U.S. to the private sector. At least 17 initiatives are underway, The Washington Post reported. What a shame. The World should agree to a universal travel passport to totally replace those booklet passports, driver's license, etc. China has already introduced its own digital certificate, which shows a person’s vaccine and testing history, and South Korea recently announced it would issue vaccine passports to immunized citizens using a mobile app.
In Israel, a possible vision of the postpandemic future is on display. More than half of Israelis have received both vaccine shots, and cases have dropped by 90 percent. The economy has reopened with help from a “Green Pass,” an entry ticket to society. If you’re looking for more answers about vaccine passports, read Tariro’s article. And here’s what you need to know about the simple white cards you get after receiving a vaccine. Why is the USA always so far behind these days? Do you know what the Biden Administration is doing about getting more people (at this point 30% still won't) to get vaccinated. They are using TV ads to encourage citizens to be inoculated. They should work closely with churches, restaurants, the sports/travel/entertainment industries and such to together indicate that those who don't get vaccinated won't be allowed into their temples of worship or enjoyment. Yes, this is almost un-American. But a pandemic is like war. Wait a minute! Amazingly enough, the CDC just announced that fully vaccinated people can travel within the U.S. without getting tested or enter quarantine. However, in their current state of abundant caution, they still don't know what to do about international travel. |
I'm again either deleting or including here everything I have on my desktop in anticipation of a new home computer next week. |
