IS DONALD TRUMP...THE DEVIL?

Well....Donald Trump is not the Devil, as depicted in The Bible.  However, the results of recent court judgements show that he is, indeed, everything you thought he was, and worse.

Key issues and resultant fallouts now become more relevant:

  • Is the Republican Party in mortal danger?
  • Now we know why Nikki Haley continues to run against Trump.
  • All those lies and cons about losing his 2020 presidential election and weaponization of the Justice Department should be ignored.  Okay, few of his supporters will, but the case is building.
  • He is a judged fraud.  He revealed that and worse when he was once president.  And he will almost surely become the Republican selection to run against Biden.
  • The Supreme Court will probably rule that he will be eligible to do so.
  • However, all that has happened, and more--say, dealing with the matter of democracy--will surely convince that body to indicate that he will not be immune to prosecution in a criminal case.  And, I think, by this summer, if not sooner.

So far, how much does Trump need to pay from all those civil judgements?

  • More half a billion, to which could be added interest payments of $50 million/year while he appeals.  Need to win Mega Millions or Powerball.  Alas, the odds are around 300 million to one.
  • How much of this will be subsidized by people like you and the Republican Party?  So far, a GoFundMe account has raised $250,000 from 5700 donors, or around $44/person.
  • Let's see now, a national NBC News poll indicated that 24% of Americans are part of the Make American Great Again, or MAGA, movement.  Thus, if each gives $44, Trump will get $3.5 billion.  Is this segment of the country that idiotic?  Okay, if only 2% of them donate, that's $710 million, easily enough to cover Trump's "unjustified" judgement.  That's easily possible, as incredible as this might be.
  • So Trump can easily ease through this unwanted burden, while strengthening his hold on the Republican Party, for anyone who donates will vote for him under any circumstance, and the first criminal trial will occur on March 25.
  • In the meantime, he campaigned at a Sneaker Con gathering in Philadelphia, introducing his first official footwear.
    • Shiny gold high tops Never Surrender with an American flag and red soles.
    • Only $399.
  • Also available is his Victory 47 cologne and perfume for $99/bottle.  Why 47?  Because he thinks he will become the 47th POTUS.
  • Why else is he doing all this hawking?  To gain votes from the younger generation, blacks and patriots.
  • One thing I tried to do in my life is avoid making enemies, for these of the ones who could someday gain revenge.  Note that this misogynist is now being punished by females?  E. Jean Carroll (among 19 females who have accused Trump of sexual misconduct), Letitia James, Fani Willis, Cassidy Hutchinson, Stormy DanielsKristen Stewartwhite working-class women, and so many more.

new book surfaced at the right time, Find Me the Votes:

  • Co-author Michael Isikoff has been an investigator for the Washington Post, NBC and Yahoo, while Danial Klaidman is a former managing editor of Newsweek.
  • They have supportive comments about Fani Willis.
  • There is a young heroine in all of what happened.  It was not Raffensperger who was responsible for that implicating Trump recording.

In one of the many telling details of Isikoff and Klaidman’s book, the authors remind us that the other hero from that phone call was the Georgia deputy secretary of state, Jordan Fuchs.

“Fuchs did what was arguably the single gutsiest and most consequential act of the entire post-election battle,” the authors believe. To protect her boss, she decided to tape the phone call – without telling Raffensperger. After the tape leaked to the Washington Post, it quickly became the single most powerful piece of evidence against the ex-president in any of the four prosecutions he is still facing.

  • Remember Cassidy Hutchinson, another youngish aide-type individual who worked in the West Wing of the White House, and whose shocking TV testimony exposed what happened on 6January2021 as the real truth?  She published Enough.
    • She became the lead witness at the House Special Committee hearings, and might well have done more, next to Trump himself, of placing him Rudy Giuliani and Mark Meadows in jeopardy.
    • The book showed disdain for Trump, deep disillusionment with Meadows and disgust for Giuliani, who she says preyed on her, which John Eastman looked on and smiled.
  • In case you missed it, Meadows too published a book, The Chief's Chief.
    • Trump trashed it as fake news, and called Meadows fucking stupid.
    • He is cooperating with Jack Smith.
    • Michael Cohen comment, the prospects of prison can bring clarity.
  • She definitely will return to the Jack Smith vs Donald Trump coup case.

On top of all the above is Donald Trump's continuing admiration of Vladimir Putin, who murdered Alexei Navalny.   Even Aljazeera said this.  If this crime cannot convince the U.S. House to approve those funds to Ukraine, what can?  The Ukraine war is to protect Freedom and Democracy.  A battle which will influence the future of the world, without any Americans being killed.  But how is Ukraine really doing?  According to Time:

Despite major challenges, Zelensky continues to hold his country mostly together. The worry is that a failure to deliver a win in 2024, like the ones seen in the war’s earliest days, may further depress spirits within Ukraine and appetite for support outside. It remains absolutely clear that the cost of letting Russia prevail in its war on Ukraine will be vastly higher than the cost of continuing to support Ukraine, but it is equally clear that Ukraine will fight on heroically even as it runs out of men, money, and munitions. Two years into the war, it is hurt but far from down.

I'll end with the awesomeness of nature.

It's Sunday.  A few minutes of clouds and sounds.  Three hours more of amazing nature and relaxing music.

A NEXT COVID SUBVARIANT?

By now most know that the Omicron BA.5 subvariant has become the dominant infectious agent, now accounting for more than 80% of all COVID-19 cases.  Very few are aware that a new one,   BA.4.6,  is sneaking in and steadily rising, now accounting for 13% of sequenced samples .  However, as BA.4.6 has emerged from BA.4, while there is uncertainty, the scientific sense is that the latest bivalent booster targeting BA.4 and BA.5 should also be effective for this next threat. One concern is that Evusheld--the only monoclonal antibody authorized for COVID prevention in immunocompromised individuals--is not effective against BA.4.6.  Here is a  reference  as to what this means.  A series of two injections is involved.  Evusheld was developed by British-Swedish company AstraZeneca, and is a t ixagevimab  co-packaged with  cilgavimab . More recently, Los Angeles County reported on  subvariant BA.2.75.2 . which Tony Fauci termed suspicio...

Part 3: OUR NEXT AROUND THE WORLD ODYSSEY

Before I get into my third, and final, part of this cruise series, let me start with some more newsworthy topics.  Thursday was my pandemic day for years.  Thus, every so often I return to bring you up to date on the latest developments.  All these  subvariants  derived from that Omicron variant, and each quickly became dominant, with slightly different symptoms.  One of these will shock you. There has been a significant decline in the lost of taste and smell.  From two-thirds of early patients to now only 10-20% show these symptoms. JN.1, now the dominant subvariant, results in mostly mild symptoms. However, once JN.1 infects some, there seem to be longer-lasting symptoms. Clearly, the latest booster helps prevent contracting Covid. A competing subvariant,  BA.2.86,  also known as Pirola , a month ago made a run, but JN.1 prevailed. No variant in particular, but research has shown that some of you will begin to  lose hair  for...

HONOLULU TO SEATTLE

The story of the day is Hurricane Milton, now a Category 4 at 145 MPH, with a track that has moved further south and the eye projected to make landfall just south of Sarasota.  Good news for Tampa, which is 73 miles north.  Milton will crash into Florida as a Category 4, and is huge, so a lot of problems can still be expected in Tampa Bay with storm surge.  If the eye had crossed into the state just north of Tampa, the damage would have been catastrophic.  Milton is a fast-moving storm, currently at 17 MPH, so as bad as the rainfall will be over Florida, again, a blessing.  The eye will make landfall around 10PM EDT today, and will move into the Atlantic Ocean north of Palm Bay Thursday morning. My first trip to Seattle was in June of 1962 just after I graduated from Stanford University.  Caught a bus. Was called the  Century 21 Exposition .  Also the Seattle World's Fair.  10 million joined me on a six-month run.  My first. These a...
